Undergraduate Course leading to B.Tech Degree
Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) or Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) is the 4-year undergraduate course in engineering. E is 10+2 passed with PCM group from the recognized educational board.

Diploma Course leading to Diploma in Engineering
Entry in Engineering course is also allowed after completing Diploma in Engineering after Class XII as a lateral entry directly into the second year of Engineering Courses. Diploma in Engineering is also offered in various streams.
Admissions into the engineering courses is done through entrance exams. For Indian Institute of Technology (IIT),students have to appear in JEE Mains as well as JEE Advanced exams while for National Institute of Technology (NIT) other prestigious engineering colleges, only JEE Main is required.;
Apart from JEE, there are other Engineering entrance exams as well like VITEE, BITSAT etc.
There are state level entrances organized by states for providing admissions into UG engineering courses. Some state level entrance exams are MHCET in Maharashtra, UPTU in Uttar Pradesh , AP EAMCET in Andhra Pradesh etc..
Engineers are highly demanded in India as well as in Foreign countries. Career options in this field are huge.
Career Options After B.Tech
After B.Tech, you can go for a job. Some colleges provide campus placement to their students. If you will not get campus placement, then you can apply for the companies by our own. If you have a dream to run your own company then you can also become an entrepreneur.
Career scope in private as well as in government fields is also available. Students can apply for Indian Engineering Services (IES) examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).
After B.Tech, students can also go for higher studies and pursue M.tech or MBA.
