What is it?

Pharmacy is the science which involves drugs and medicines with respect to its development and supply to the patients. 


There are various professional courses in Pharmacy after 10+2 and are mentioned below :

Diploma in Pharmacy (D. Pharm.),

Bachelor of Pharmacy (B. Pharm),

1. D Pharma ( Diploma in Pharmacy)

Diploma in Pharmacy is a Diploma certificate course.Duration of the diploma is  2 years.

Eligibility criteria 

  • Minimum qualifying criteria is 10+2 passed with Science stream subjects from a recognized board 
  • In some institutes, PCB subjects are mandatory.
  • Minimum qualifying marks vary with institutions 50-60% marks in Science


Admission process 

Admissions could be based on direct admission or merit based admission process.

Career Scope
D. Pharmacy holders have varied career opportunities for them.

  • They can work in hospitals, clinics & private drug stores. They need to supply drugs to patients based on doctor's prescription, directions for usage,and ensure the stock management
  • Various Pharmaceutical companies offers jobs to D Pharm holder 
  • Further studies like B, Pharm, M. Pharm  etc. can also be pursued for build more strength to the career opportunities


SALARY

Salary range for D Pharm holder may start from 10k and can go up to 30k 

B. Pharm is an undergraduate degree course in the pharma field. The duration of this course is 4 years. After the completion of this course, an individual can practice as a Pharmacist or chemist.


Eligibility

Students must have passed class 12th with Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics/Biology withminimum of 50% marks in the qualifying examination.

  • Completion of Diploma in Pharmacy (D. Pharm) can also help you in securing admission in B. Pharm
